Dr Mahtani states the case for Zambia

10th December 2009

A recent Zambian investment conference in London, organised by Africa Matters Limited (AML) and Developing Markets Associates (DMA) has been hailed as a “great success”. The forum, opened by his Excellency the Vice President of Zambia ,George Kunde, brought together 150 delegates from a wide spectrum of backgrounds, united behind the common goal of how investment could drive development in the country.

The delegates were regaled by the passion of Ministers such as the Minister of Trade and Industry Felix Mutati, but also heard the cold case from existing investors of why Zambia is such a good investment opportunity. The conference looked at various key sectors for Zambia, including mining, tourism and agriculture, with case studies being given of opportunities available, as well as of private sector success stories.

The event helped to state the case for why investors should be looking at Africa in general, but Zambia in particular.
