Inward investment remains of critical importance to most African nations in their efforts to create and sustain economic growth. To achieve this African governments need to reach out to the private sector across the world to ensure that their message is heard and the opportunities which exist are fully understood.
AML supports this process by developing and organising investment fora for both African governments and individual clients. For the Government of Uganda we organized an anti-counterfeiting seminar in Kampala so that the Government could meet with the various affected stakeholders. In London, we assisted the City of London to create an investment seminar for the five countries of the East African Community, which brought together three African Presidents and two Vice-Presidents.
We also manage such events in conjunction with our partners, Developing Markets Associates, who have an exemplary track record in this area. AML has run two successful investment fora for the Federal Republic of Nigeria in recent months, one in London and one in Abu Dhabi. We are organizing a similar event for the Republic of Zambia later in 2009. Events for 2010 with other African nations are already in the pipeline.
AML is also working closely with the Nigerian High Commission in London and Business in Africa Events to develop a range of exciting attractions in 2010 in London to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Nigeria's independence.
