Agriculture in Africa

In terms of agricultural development Africa remains the region which globally has the most untapped potential. With the right technology, training, investment, and the backing of governments Africa has the potential to feed not only itself but millions more, and to export products with real value-added. Rising international food prices and an ever expanding global population make African agriculture both critically important to the international community, and an increasingly commercially viable investment location. Nearly 90% of the poor in Africa work primarily in agriculture – their economic development can be unlocked by agricultural development. Africa governments are increasingly looking to modernise and make step changes in the sector.
